I know it's not presidents month, but I noticed an interesting object in Sue French's column this month, Shane1 is a planetary nebula in Serpens. I won't give a magnitude since observers are reporting it's visible in smaller scopes down to 70mm.

2010 May Skies

The month opens with the Moon just past its full phase on April 28. On May 9, Jupiter shares the morning sky with the waning crescent Moon; on the 12th, Luna and Mercury are positioned together in the morning twilight, but you’ll have to have a sharp eye to see them just before sunrise.
